“I Haven’t Eaten For 34 Hours” – Singer Tems Declares Hunger Strike Following Her and Omah Lay’s Arrest By Ugandan Police

 

Tems goes on hunger strike; reveals that she has not eaten for the past 34 hours after being arrested alongside Omah Lay in Uganda (video)

Following her and Omah Lay’s arrest in Uganda, Nigerian singer, Tems real name Temilade Openiyi has gone on a hunger strike in the country.

Tems was arrested alongside Omah Lay and another Nigerian and they’re currently remanded in prison till Wednesday, December 16th for a hearing in court.

Before the court hearing began, Tems was asked if she would eat, she then said that she wouldn’t eat because of the harsh treatment she was receiving.

The obviously unhappy singer told the Uganda official that she hasn’t eaten since she was arrested which was on Saturday and she wouldn’t eat till the next 48 hours which is Wednesday 16th. She also said that she wouldn’t take anything unless they want to tie her to a chair and force the good down here throat.

A video of the moment Tems declared the hunger strike is currently making rounds on Nigerian social media and it has sparked outrage from Nigerians who have threatened to rain fire and brimstone should anything happen to Tems.

She said;

“… I am not going to eat, I haven’t eaten for the past 34 hours, it’s my body … but what if I wanted to die then you have no say,

“I am not going to have anything except you want to tie me down to a chair..”
