Ace Comedian and actor Ayo Makun also known as AY, has declared that making adventure movies remains his innovative style as a film maker, saying “I will only change it when I feel it’s time to do something else.”
AY made this declaration, while on the set of his forthcoming movie, “10 Days in the Sun City”, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, during the week. The actor, who has become a force to reckon with, in Nollywood, having produced two ground-breaking adventure-inspired movies, “30 Days in Atlanta” which later became the highest grossing movie in the industry and “A Trip to Jamaica” is certainly redefining the art of film making in Nigeria.
The ace-comedian turned-actor believes in adventure, and according to him, “the strength of a film maker lies in his ability to produce adventure-inspired movies.”
“ It’s my style and like James Bond, you would see James Bond series shot in different locations. It’s the same thing with Akpos. That’s the marketing strategy for the brand. Nobody has questioned the idea behind the James Bond brand. What is important is that it’s the producer’s strategy to recoup his investment. It’s a winning formula and I can’t change it. I will only change it when I feel it’s time to do something else,”AY stated.
He continued, “10 Days in the Sun City” is another series of the Akpo’s adventure. This time, Akpos decided to go to the Sun City to have another memorable adventure. It’s a romantic comedy laced with actions. The idea is to do the normal collaboration with film makers from other countries.
Shot in Sun City, Johannesburg and Lagos, the hilarious star-studded movie features top stars including Richard Mofe-Damijo,RMD, Adesua Etomi, Mercy Johnson, Falz The Bahd Guy, 2Baba Idibia, Gbenro Ajibade, Fathia Balogun, Uti Nwachukwu, Yvonne Jegede and Alexx Ekubo among others. The movie also features Miguel Nunez Jr. from Hollywood and hilarious South Africa cast that includes the sensational Amanda Du Pont, comedienne Thenjiwe Moseley, Celeste Ntuli and lots more.
‘10 Days in Sun City’ is a potpourri of love, drama, passion and culture combined with generous portions of comedy. The movie is a feature-length comedy-drama that sees Akpos on another ‘adventure’, this time, to South Africa, with his girlfriend Bianca .
According to AY, the movie is a celebration of great human and tourism resources from Nigeria, South Africa and America. The movie explores another Akpos series, but this time, it celebrates the aesthetic developments in Africa by showcasing the tourism potentials of Nigeria and South Africa to the world. Directed by award-winning South Africa-based Nigerian Director Adze Ugah, the movie will hit cinemas across Nigeria and South Africa from June 23.
